
Known locally as the TOLLY the building dates from the early 18th century & is grade 2 listed.
Located on Royal Hill in Greenwich the street was originally calling Gang Hill dating from the times of the press gangs that knocked-out the unfortunate drunks & carted them off to sea.
The pub was originally two shops converted into one in the 1930’s, at one time half was an off-licence before becoming a pub. The original name was YE OLDE HOUSE & was owned by Ipswich brewer Tollemarche & Cobbold aka The Tolly. The pub was acquired by Youngs in 1974.
