Greenwich’s Favourite Local Pub
Jamie and the team welcome you to our much-loved neighbourhood pub perched on historic Royal Hill, just a short stroll from central Greenwich and a mere 400m from the DLR.
We’ve been the beating heart of the community since 1869, a place where neighbours become friends, dogs get fussed before their owners do, and everyone settles in for the kind of hospitality only a proper local can deliver.
Step inside and you’ll find carefully kept guest ales, craft beers poured just right, fine wines ready for swirling, and a back bar stacked with the good stuff.
Our menu leans into the classics, the kind of nostalgic, belly-hugging dishes that feel like home. Think roast dinners that anchor a Sunday and a sticky toffee pudding that could give any family recipe a run for its money.
Richard the First is, and always has been, a proper Greenwich local. Come on in, get comfy, and make yourself at home.

Winter Set Menu
From 5th January to 27th February, we’re serving a weekday Winter Set Menu that leans into the best of Britain’s cold-weather produce. Think cosy flavours, comforting favourites, and those small-but-brilliant touches that make winter feel wonderfully indulgent.
Tuck into 2 courses for £19 or 3 courses for £23 a delicious way to dodge the chill and linger a little longer at the pub. Winter can be bleak… but your lunch or dinner doesn’t have to be.
